Effective as of June 1, 2021, Detex Corporation will end our nearly century-old participation in the Guard Tour market.

The responsibility for the management of the sales, service and support for our guard tour products and systems will be transferred to Central Time Clock, Inc. (CTC) in the New York City area. CTC has been selling and supporting Detex guard tour products through three generations of family ownership, and they are totally capable of handling these responsibilities and eager to do so.

Beginning on June 1, 2021, our Guard Tour Sales Channel Partners and End Users may continue to procure Detex guard tour products through CTCCTC has committed to maintain current pricing in effect at least through the end of 2021.

Luis Altamira hired as Mechanical Design Engineer

Luis Altamira has been hired as a Mechanical Design Engineer.

Luis holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Universidad Politecnica de Aguascalientes as well as a Master’s Degree in Mathematics. Luis brings more than 10 years of experience to Detex.

Luis will primarily be responsible for supporting and processing the DSI product line, including mechanical and optical turnstiles, annunciators, door management alarms, and customized products.

The DTX-2300 is a stand alone single door access control with a proximity reader and keypad. The DTX-2300, when used on it’s own, provides cost effective standard access control functionality with the use of it’s two relays and two inputs for request to exit and door position. EAX-300 Door Prop Alarm

The Detex EAX-300 Series is designed for applications where doors may be used but not held or propped open. Door open times vary from 1 second to 4 minutes (15 second default) and are field selectable. The smaller size makes installation quick and easy.

Adding a door prop alarm is a low cost, desirable solution to propped open doors. They help keep energy costs down by ensuring the doors are closed. An intelligent circuit senses the external magnet location automatically, sounding an alarm when the door has been open too long, and automatically rearms when the door has been closed again; requires no waiting for the key holder to arrive.

Detex Corporation Announces Acquisition of Lockman Peck Automatic Door Operator Product Lines

Detex Corporation has reached an agreement with Lockman Peck LLC to purchase the intellectual property and all exclusive rights related to their Model 2000 automatic door operator product line.

During the last eighteen months, this product line has been offered by Detex under the AO19 private label and has been manufactured by Lockman Peck at South Bend, Indiana. Production of the automatic operator product line will transition to Detex in New Braunfels, Texas by year end.

John Blodgett, President of Detex, has also announced the appointment of Scott Peck as Sales Engineer, Detex Products.  Peck’s role will be to assure a smooth integration of the automatic operator product line into the Detex brand from the customer service and technical sales perspectives.  Ed Lockman will continue to provide sales and marketing support on the automatic operator product line with a focus on the sales channel, sales representatives and end user customers.

“Our automatic door customers will now have the benefit of a single integrated product line that will perform all the desired functions seamlessly and conveniently,” said Blodgett.  “We are pleased to add this high-quality line to the Detex brand, as well as to have the continuing benefit of Lockman Peck’s expertise on these products.”
