DETEX Wins Most Improved Safety Program Award

DETEX Corporation, a leading manufacturer and supplier of life safety and security door hardware equipment for commercial buildings, was presented a safety award for “The Most Improved Safety Program” from Safety First Consulting on September 26, 2018.

“We are extremely proud of DETEX Corporation’s leadership and hard work through a challenging period of expansion and growth to establish and continuously improve their safety program,” says Robert Box, President of Safety First Consulting. “Out of all our clients this year, DETEX stands alone with regard to the speed and effectiveness they have identified and resolved potential safety hazards.”

DETEX Corporation, established in 1923, is headquartered in New Braunfels, Texas where the main production facility is located.

“People are what make DETEX Corporation a leader in what we do, and investing in a safe workplace is an investment in our employees’ well-being,” says John Blodgett, President, DETEX Corporation. “By establishing a firm foundation of a solid safety program, we are better positioned for growth and continued excellent service to our customers.”

“The award is a reflection of the hard work and commitment DETEX leadership and employees put forth to enhance safety efforts while improving efficiency,” said Box. “We are happy for the DETEX family in attaining this fantastic accomplishment.”

Detex Corporation Announces It Has Been Registered With The AIA/CES

Detex Corporation, an American owned company with a history exceeding 100 years,  is now an authorized organization and program provider at the Passport level.

“We see this service as another way to pay back the country, the industry and the customers that have been so good to Detex for so long”, said Carl Dean, National Training Manager.

Detex’s first registered  program is a comprehensive session on doors and hardware code related applications. While Detex primarily focuses on Grade 1 latching products such as exit devices, alarmed exit locks and electrical security products including low energy operators and electrical door monitors; this session covers much more. Topics include basic products like coordinators, flushbolts, and astragals.

This lively session provides nuts and bolts information about the selection of types of doors, frames and hardware to make openings code compliant. The complications, conflicts and numerous exceptions of various codes as well as deciphering manufacturers’ catalogs add to the designer’s dilemma in selecting the right combination of these products. This session uses three decades of experience in working with all phases of construction from owner’s wish list right down to the trades people who install the products. This class is suitable for the recent graduate as well as the veteran who has been away from academia for some time.

This session is for both the design professional who has no door and hardware experience as well as those seasoned veterans who still have that eerie feeling when they see a hardware schedule or a pair of RHR double egress doors. If you don’t know the problem with the last item this is a must attend program.

All that is required on your part is pad of paper and a No. 2 pencil.

New Detex Website Features Idea Center And Support Videos

Detex Corporation, manufacturer of high-quality life safety and security door hardware, has redesigned and expanded its website to include special new features and more extensive product information for customer research. Now, end users or architects or anyone who may be unfamiliar with commercial door hardware products can easily explore the possibilities for their own requirements.

The site is designed to provide easy access not only to life safety and security door hardware, but to integrated door security systems, and safety and security risk management products. With fewer clicks, visitors can reach their specific areas of interest.

Two new sections are especially popular with site visitors. In the Idea Center, customers choose an industry – retail, healthcare, government, education, or transportation – and click to see products and applications for their purposes. Each category includes 3D building images illustrating products and systems in place, so that it’s simple to tailor systems for any application.

In the Help & Support section, visitors can see installation videos, videos on how to change batteries, installation instructions, product templates, contact information for technical support, guard tour support, and information on scheduled training sessions.

“We’ve even included a site video that explains how to navigate so that you find what you’re looking for right away,” said Ken Kuehler, Director of Marketing and Sales at Detex. “Customers get a wider perspective on all the systems and products available, so they can compare product applications, side by side.”
