MINIMUM ADVERTISED PRICE (MAP) POLICY

Minimum Advertised Price (MAP) Policy

Detex Corporation has been building a brand of strong recognition and a high perceived value since 1923.  In order to maintain the integrity of Detex Corporation’s products, we have established a Minimum Advertised Price (MAP) Policy for our distributors on select products. This policy has been developed to protect and support all customers of Detex Corporation.  The intention is not to interfere with your business, but rather to enable our customers to have sustainable business practices by allowing for a reasonable profit margin.

The products included in this MAP Policy are EAX-500, ECL-230D, and V40-EB. These products are to be advertised at no less than 30% above the purchase price from Detex Corporation.  Notification will be sent to all customers when/if products are added to this policy, with a minimum of 30 days notice.

The Detex Corporation MAP Policy is effective starting August 1, 2019, and applies to all customers, independent of their location or currency.

The MAP Policy works under the following guidelines:

  • Distributors of Detex products may not advertise a price lower than the MAP Policy parameters for the products included in this policy.
  • Prices below this MAP Policy cannot be advertised in any form of mass distribution. This includes printed material, mailings, internet or any similar print or electronic media promotion. Statements such as “call for price” or “call for quote” are acceptable and permitted.
  • Auction site sales are allowed as long as the minimum bid, or reserve prices meet or exceed the MAP Policy pricing.

The MAP Policy is not applicable to:

  • Any print material that is inside the customer’s facility.
  • Print material handed out at in-house trade shows.
  • Electronic catalog/price book that requires a sign in and password to access pricing.
  • Print or internet promotion that states “call for price”, “call for quote” or anything similar is acceptable.
  • Signage or print advertising that is contained at the distributor facility.
  • Distributor promotions that offer a percent discount on all products. (i.e. 10% discount on all Detex products on orders exceeding $1,000).
  • Trade show specials that are printed for display only in the distributor’s booth.

Detex Corporation reserves the right to not sell to any distributor found in violation of this policy.  Detex Corporation will not be held responsible for enforcement of this policy or lack thereof.

Thank you for your business, support and cooperation with this policy.

Transportation

Transportation

For airport entryways and exits where security is essential, Detex is on guard with a full line of hardware options, including our exclusive panic hardware that integrates delayed egress and latch retraction in a single patented device. Operation is simple for airport staff: latch retraction allows easy access with card or keypad, without sounding an alarm. But unauthorized attempts to enter secure areas trigger the alarm and keep the door locked for 15 seconds so that staff can respond. Designed specifically for this kind of use, Advantex Delayed Egress/Latch Retraction hardware is engineered for reliable performance, low maintenance, and long life. With no magnetic locks or electric strikes to wear out, this is the innovative hardware your facility needs for reliable, effective performance.
