JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for all aspects of planning, coordinating, and executing all activities related to tradeshow and special events; coordinating design and setup of display panels and demos; ordering advertising and promotion literature. Provides support services to coordinate, pack, set up, and schedule tradeshows and continuous organization of tradeshow material.

Completes other duties as required.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Include but are not limited to:

  • Works with Sales & Marketing Manager to determine needs and special requirements for tradeshows, producing accurate booth layouts, detailed before the show.
  • Coordinates tradeshow requirements from the planning stage through the breakdown of exhibits, which includes floor layout, carpet, electrical needs, display panels, shipping, receiving, unpacking, refurbishing, etc… and maintains an organized storage area.
  • Meets with staff and vendors to schedule activities and ensure printed material, booth layout, space arrangements, and displays are ordered, delivered, and properly set up at the designated location for tradeshows, presentations, and/or training sessions.
  • Plans, coordinates, orders, and schedules work to ensure timely delivery of promotional products and advertising and marketing literature, as it pertains to tradeshows & other marketing and sales events.
  • Provides scheduling, advertising, and marketing information within the organization and with outside agencies.
  • Travels to 2-3 large tradeshows per year to help with a booth set up, learning what is required to plan, promote, execute, present, and market the Detex brand.
  • Organizes, labels, and maintains all trade show booth materials, displays, panels, supplies, products, and crates. Ensures tradeshow displays are operational.
  • Maintains the inventory of demos and displays for sales representatives and uses in sales calls. Coordinates the production of advertising, sales, and marketing materials.
  • Ensures demos and displays are current and up to date with new products by coordinating with sales and marketing staff and customer support technicians.
  • Maintains various logs and reports to track and analyze sales and marketing information, such as tradeshow information and associated costs.
  • Assists with all aspects of planning, coordinating and executing all activities related to employee engagements and company special events.
  • Assists in coordinating, web announcements, brochures, press releases, and electronic communications.
  • Follows established guidelines and/or procedures in performing essential job functions.  Uses initiative to ensure that the details of coordinating successful tradeshows are met.
  • Follows established procedures, work instructions, and operational controls implemented by the Company to comply with all applicable legal requirements.
  • Maintains the cleanliness, organization, and safety of the work area.
  • Maintains business casual attire which presents a neat and professional appearance.
  • Follows safe working practices and wears required personal protective equipment.
  • Completes other duties as required.

Qualifications:

Associate’s Degree from an accredited institution/college or university in marketing, advertising hospitality, or business administration and 2 years related work experience; or an equivalent combination of education and/or related advertising/marketing experience. Bachelor’s Degree Preferred.

  • Knowledge of marketing and sales principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of event planning principles, requirements, and procedures.
  • Ability to set up and take down tradeshow booth and demo equipment.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and maintain demo equipment and repairs as needed.
  • Ability to work in an office and warehouse hands-on environment.
  • Strong organizational skills, detail-oriented, and ability to establish priorities.
  • Be attentive to detail, have good planning, and time management skills, and be willing to assume a variety of tasks.
  • Skills in effectively listening and communicating tactfully verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships internally and externally.
  • Be willing to work weekend hours, and overtime as required.
  • Knowledge of and skill in operating personal computers and other office equipment.
  • Ability to design advertising and marketing materials
  • Ability to operate a pallet jack. Certified to operate a forklift preferred.
  • Knowledge of and skill in using various desktop programs related to graphic design, email, booth layout design, and other general office software and video editing knowledge and experience preferred.

  • Visual acuity, speech, and hearing; hand-eye coordination, utilize near and far vision, depth perception, and manual dexterity necessary to work with various materials, and objects and operate basic office equipment which are essential aspects of this position.
