Production Electronic Tech

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for testing and troubleshooting electronic assemblies and performs routine maintenance of electronic production equipment. Performs other duties as required.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Include but are not limited to:

  • Interpets and uses schematics as required to complete job functions.
  • Solders assembles, inspects, tests, diagnosis, troubleshoots and repairs electronic assemblies and multi-level PCB boards and properties per design specification.
  • Operates SMT and through hole equipment.
  • Performs routine maintenance on electronic production equipment.
  • Sets up machines for individual PWA production and assists production staff.
  • Troubleshoots basic machine errors (not programming related).
  • Completes backup and restores machine databases as needed.
  • Performs KISS machine offline programming and manages MSL components.
  • Creates and manages Heller oven profiles.
  • Evaluates paste screen condition, order as needed in conjunction with production staff.
  • Creates test plans and tests to engineering specifications.
  • Participates in product implementation and corrective actions related to electronic assemblies and test fixtures. Builds simple test fixtures to support production  testing.
  • Completes first level electronic test fixture troubleshooting  and coordinates with engineering on corrective actions. 
  • Performs minor test fixture repairs that don’t require engineering support.
  • Performs nonconforming activities related to non-function electronic assemblies.
  • Procures material and tools needed to maintain electronics testing workspace.
  • Works with blueprints, process sheets, operations manuals, and schematics.
  • Provides electronic technical support for production as directed.
  • Maintains detailed records of daily reported issues and completed repairs along with any further actions required on assemblies, production, and repairs.
  • Maintains appearance standards and professional communication skills.
  • Is responsible for completion of assigned work, efficiency, and productivity.
  • Ensures repairs are completed timely to minimize backlog to meet business objectives.
  • Collaborate with Quality Auditor to ensure all production output meets work instruction specifications to eliminate product variances, waste, and customer complaints.
  • Attendance: reports to work on time at the beginning of the shift, after meal & break periods and is prepared to work immediately after clock in.
  • Supports cross-training of production staff and new hires.
  • Reports building, equipment sanitation, OSHA, and Safety concerns immediately.
  • Continuous improvement demonstrated in work output and building sanitation.
  • Maintains the cleanliness, organization, quality control and safety of work area.
  • Follows established procedures, work instructions and Detex operational controls.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Associates degree in electronics and two-years related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and/or related experience.

  • Knowledge of electronic and electro-mechanical engineering principles, mechanisms,  techniques, testing procedures and circuit boards, processors and integrated circuits.
  • Knowledge of basic Laboratory equipment such as soldering equipment, oscilloscopes, function generators, etc. Ability to use various soldering and wiring technics.
  • Skill in using various electronic testing equipment and measuring devices.
  • Skill in designing and testing mechanical and electro-mechanical products
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering designs, schematics, and work orders.
  • Ability to quickly identify problems, form solutions, and troubleshoot on electronic products.

Quality Assurance Inspector

JOB SUMMARY:

Is responsible for incoming material/part(s) inspection, performing quality tests and/or comparisons of manufactured, purchased parts and materials for dimensional accuracy, form, fit, alignment and functional operation using various measuring instruments and devices; documenting results, deviations and findings. Completes other support related duties as required.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Include but are not limited to:

  • Primary responsibility is to inspect incoming material/parts to specifications to identify material/part discrepancies for non-conformance and document and report variances.
  • Performs mechanical and electronic part inspections. To include, machine shop first piece in-process and final inspections.
  • Visually verifies PC boards and components by comparing them to print specifications.
  • Uses measuring tools, such as, micrometers, calipers, steel rules, and height gauges to inspect products, parts and materials and insure they meet established tolerances.
  • Records and maintains file of results and finding of inspections.
  • Prepares vendor rejection notification reports and vendor warning reports as required.
  • Provides routine and technical information regarding status of and/or non-compliance of inspected product and materials.
  • Communicates frequently with co-workers, other departments and vendors.
  • Achieves quality assurance objectives thru collection of information, analysis of data and strategic review of incoming products and products produced.
  • Helps to meets quality assurance financial objectives by analyzing variances and recommending corrective actions for management review.
  • Validates quality processes by measuring product specifications, quantities and quality attributes. Establishes critical limits, monitoring procedures, verification procedures and corrective action progress when applicable.
  • Documents and reports all discrepancies between the product and the written specifications per procedures. Puts product on hold/containment for any issues identifed.
  • Assist with sorting of material for defects or customer claims, when needed.
  • Maintains, monitors and improves product quality by completing audits.
  • Prepares quality documentation and reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends; including failed processes, recalls and re-validations.
  • Completes in-process-inspection to ensure production process is as defined in the production work instructions.
  • Communicates product, process and documentation discrepancies and potential discrepancies to aid continuous improvement efforts to the Quality Manager.
  • Enters daily scrap for inventory control and for improvement analysis.
  • Suggest opportunities for improvement.
  • Maintains the cleanliness, organization, quality control and safety of workarea.
  • Controls costs by ensuring materials meet quality specificaitons and identifies, documents and reports any defective material and/or parts.

Qualifications:

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for assembling mechanical and electro-mechanical boards, hardware and other door products and highly configurable complex units/assemblies. Sets up jobs, solders parts to printed boards, completes re-work, packs products and other related duties as required.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Include but are not limited to:

  • Ability to read and interpret bill of materials (BOM) and accurately pick materials required for scheduled work orders.
  • Maintains soldering certification. Solder minor and complex PCB’s and other solder subs. Solders parts and wires to printed circuit boards and completes re-work.
  • Assembles mechanical and electro-mechanical highly configurable and complex units and boards, parts, hardware and other door products using various parts, such as, electronic components, PC boards, covers, plates, boxes, screws, nuts, and wires.
  • Inserts small component parts and/or wires onto printed circuit boards.
  • Meets or exceeds standard rates and performs Assembly I &II functions as needed.
  • Tests PCB boards and operates PWA machines, i.e., Juki pick and place surface mount machine and Juki Cube through hole selective solder machine, Heller oven and all other PWA equipment/machines.
  • Operates/uses machines, hand tools, small power tools, voltage meters and testing equipment to assemble and test product. Strips, wraps wires and wires units.
  • Reviews work orders and ensure appropriate level of materials, tools, equipment and resources are available for production functions.
  • Reads process sheets and assembles boards and units for standard and custom orders.
  • Works from samples, sample drawings, blueprints, schematics and written and verbal instructions. Reads work order or follows oral instructions to ascertain materials.
  • Packages product and prepares for shipping. Ensures all packaging is according to workmanship standard. Attaches identifying labels to finished product,boxes and part containers per work instructions.
  • Assist in moving materials, parts and products as needed.
  • Determines item identification and stock location. Stores items in bins, racks, or shelves, according to identifying part number.
  • Ensure assigned production work orders are followed. Run what is scheduled to run. Communicate any deviations immediately.
  • Completes in-process-inspection to ensure product meets work instruction specifications, quality attributes and reports variances immediately to lead/supervisor.

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for repairing and testing electronic boards, parts, hardware, and other manufactured security products; provides electronic technical support and troubleshoots issues with products. Performs other related duties as required.

  • Trouble shoots and diagnoses malfunctioning circuits and recommends and/or implements corrective action.

  • Evaluates and provides price estimates to repair circuit boards, hardware, and other safety/security devices.
  • Maintains and updates estimate pending and awaiting pack lists.

  • Provides electronic technical support for manufacturing.
  • Provides general and technical information related to products. 
  • Assists in the design, development, testing and approval of new parts and products.

Customer Service Technical Phone Support

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for providing technical probem resolution, troubleshoot issues with security products, and provides customer service support over the phone. Also responsible for onsite/offsite product training, providing electronic technical support, installing equipment, maintaining records of customer interactions and collaborating with others to improve customer service requirements and satisfaction. Completes other related duties as directed.

  • Provide daily support to users of various computer systems including answering questions, analyzing problems, and quickly forming solutions to ensure proper operation of company products.
  • Provide technical and sales customer support services for security products over the phone and electronically.

  • Provides on-site/off-site product training to vendors, sales dealers, staff, etc…
  • Maintains logs and reports; customer phone, repair, inventory logs/reports ect…
  • Evaluates and critiques installation instructions and new products for continuous improvement and communicates identified opportunities to supervisor.
  • Follows established procedures, work instructions and operational controls implemented by Detex to comply with all applicable legal requirements.
  • Follows safe working practices and properly wears personal protective equipment.
  • Performs other duties as directed.

Qualifications:

Associates degree in electronics and/or help desk support technician with windows desktop certification (MSCDST Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician) and three-years related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and/or related experience and willingness to learn through on-the-job training.

  • Knowledge of electronic principles, concepts and testing procedures.
  • Ability to read and interpret installation instructions, blueprints, process sheets, operations manuals, schematics and work orders.
  • Ability to quickly identify problems, form solutions, and execute step-by-step troubleshooting procedures on electronic and hardware products.
  • Ability to troubleshoot electronic and hardware products.
  • Ability to use electronic testing equipment, measuring devices and hand tools.
  • Ability to use various soldering and wiring technics.
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations.
  • Skills in effectively listening and communicating verbally and in writing.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to remain calm and professional in all circumstances and ability to use tact and diplomacy.
  • Ability to compile and maintain records, logs and organize reports.
  • Ability to operate office equipment; computer, phones, fax, etc…
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships internally and externally.
  • Be willing to work weekend hours, and overtime as required.
  • Bilingual; English/Spanish, preferred.
