NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas – Detex Corporation proudly recognizes and celebrates the retirement of Gilbert Lombardo, whose remarkable 38-year career has left a lasting impact on the company, its products, and its people.
Gilbert began his Detex journey as a draftsman while attending Southwest Texas State University, where he earned his engineering degree. Balancing work and education, he quickly demonstrated the dedication, technical aptitude, and work ethic that would characterize his entire career.
Over nearly four decades, Gilbert played an instrumental role in the development and success of numerous Detex product lines. As an engineer, he contributed to the design and advancement of several key products, including the EAX, ECL-230X, and Value Series product families. His work helped shape innovative solutions that have served customers across a wide range of markets and applications.
Beyond product design, Gilbert’s career reflected a deep commitment to continuous improvement and manufacturing excellence. He later served as a Manufacturing Engineer, where he worked closely with production teams to enhance processes, improve efficiency, and support quality initiatives throughout the organization.
In the final chapter of his career, Gilbert brought his extensive knowledge and expertise to the Detex Test Lab, where he played a critical role in testing, certifying, and validating products to ensure they met the high standards of quality and reliability expected by Detex customers.
